Texans CB Kris Boyd Apologizes for On-Field Shove at Coach

Houston Texans cornerback Kris Boyd said he was “too excited” and apologized for shoving special teams coordinator Frank Ross during the team’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The incident occurred after a play, and cameras captured Boyd removing his helmet, which resulted in a 15-yard penalty.

Boyd, who is in his second season with the Texans, expressed remorse for his actions, stating that it was not in his character. He also spoke with Ross and apologized for the incident. Coach DeMeco Ryans agreed that the play was not acceptable, citing that throwing a helmet on the first play of the game is “silly” and goes against team values.

Boyd’s penalty allowed the Chiefs to start their drive at Houston’s 13-yard line, and it contributed to the Texans’ 23-14 loss. The incident highlights the importance of emotional control in high-pressure situations for athletes.
