Former US President Donald Trump is accused by celebrity Chrissy Teigen of orchestrating a scheme to position himself as a hero over the recent TikTok ban. The federal ban, which took millions of users by surprise, was met with opposition from Teigen and others who claim it’s part of a strategy to manipulate public perception.
According to Teigen, Trump is trying to frame himself as a saviour for young people who use TikTok, claiming that the platform will be reinstated under his leadership. She believes this could lead users to praise him for “free speech”, falling right into his trap.
Trump has recently announced on his Truth Social platform that he asked companies not to let TikTok stay dark and declared he would sign an executive order to postpone the ban. He stated that the order will confirm no liability for companies who helped keep the app from being taken offline before his order is issued.
