Ancestors’ Diet Was Mostly Vegetarian, Study Suggests

Researchers have analyzed fossilized teeth of Australopithecus africanus, an early human relative, and found that bipedal primates likely followed a vegetarian diet rich in salad-like plants. The study suggests these early humans spent more time eating greens than meat, with the majority of their food consisting of fruits, nuts, and seeds.
