Matthew Stafford Hints at NFL Future Amid Postgame Reflections

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford addressed his NFL future just hours after the team lost 28-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sunday’s divisional round playoff game.

Stafford, who has two years remaining on his contract, seemed uncertain about his plans but expressed confidence in his abilities. “Sure feels like I’ve got football left in me,” he said.

Rams head coach Sean McVay appeared more introspective, acknowledging that the team was close to winning but ultimately fell short. “I’m happy to be a part of this team and proud of this group,” McVay said.

Stafford played with a rib injury, which he had been dealing with throughout the season. Despite this, he completed 26 of 44 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns.

The Rams’ loss was attributed to a few key plays that went awry. With just over a minute left in the game, Stafford’s fourth-down pass fell incomplete after the team had reached scoring position. McVay expressed disappointment but still praised Stafford, calling him “a total freaking stud.”

In the aftermath of the game, Stafford seemed resolute about returning to action. “Had a chance for it and didn’t get it done,” he said. “But I love competing… Sure as hell not afraid of them.”
