Samsung Unveils Glasses-Free 3D Gaming Monitor for ‘The First Berserker’

Samsung has partnered with game developers Nexon Korea and Neople to deliver unparalleled 3D experiences in the upcoming game ‘The First Berserker: Khazan.’ The game’s 3D elements are being specially customized and designed during development, utilizing Samsung technology and the advanced capabilities of the Odyssey 3D monitor.

This partnership aims to provide an unmatched gaming experience with ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’ on the Odyssey 3D monitor. Nexon and Neople will tailor the 3D visuals, carefully adjusting them based on the composition of characters, backgrounds, and cinematics throughout the game.

According to Samsung, the display allows 2D scenery and characters to gain more dimensions, regardless of viewing angles. The Odyssey 3D utilizes a light field display to send rays of light at angles that seem natural to viewers. The monitor will be available worldwide in April with more than 10 titles that are fully compatible with it.

While ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’ is expected to help establish the Samsung 3D monitor as a commercial success, Acer’s SpatialLabs technology seems to have an advantage. Nonetheless, Nexon plans to distribute a 3D version of the game on Steam that showcases the display’s potential. A demo is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S players.

The Odyssey 3D was first introduced at Gamescom 2024 with a front-mounted lenticular lens, stereo camera, and eye-tracking. It has undergone refinements since then and will be showcased at the upcoming launch in April.
