A winning Powerball ticket valued at $328.5 million was sold in Beaverton, Oregon, on January 17. The winner has until the end of the year to claim their prize. According to state law, non-anonymous winners must publicly disclose their identity.
The largest Oregon Powerball win, $1.3 billion, was claimed last year by a Portland man and his wife. A portion of sales goes towards funding economic development, education, veteran services, and more. The ticket seller will receive commissions from increased sales and bonus payments for smaller wins.
Security protocols have been put in place to protect the retailer’s location until the winner comes forward.
