Samsung is reportedly set to unveil its first ‘tri-fold’ foldable smartphone earlier than expected. According to Display Supply Chain Consultants, panel shipments for the device are scheduled to begin in Q4 2025, roughly a year ahead of initial predictions.
The Elec sources suggest that Samsung’s tri-fold launch event will coincide with the release of the Galaxy S25 series and will likely take place in July. This summer event may also showcase new models like the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, as well as a more affordable version of the latter.
Production plans indicate a modest run of 200,000 units for Samsung’s inaugural tri-fold, which is significantly lower than the estimated production run for its flagship Galaxy Z Fold7 model. The device is expected to conform to the Flex G form factor, previously showcased at CES 2025.
