Meghan Markle has faced new allegations of bullying staff members at her American operation, Vanity Fair reported. The claims date back to 2018 and were previously denied by the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry.
According to sources, Meghan’s behavior was described as “really, really, really awful” by a colleague who worked on the couple’s podcast, Archetypes. Staff members felt they could be “thrown to the wolves” at any given moment, with one staff member describing their experience as being “talking behind your back” and “gnawing at your sense of self” in a manner reminiscent of teenagers in the movie Mean Girls.
Vanity Fair’s investigation found that several staff members took extended breaks from work or left their jobs altogether after working with Meghan. Some even required therapy to cope with the stress.
The allegations are significant because they come from a source within Meghan’s team, Anna Peele, who wrote extensively about the issues in Vanity Fair. The report also notes that Harry was not aware of how Meghan treated staff members, as she did not literally shout at them.
Meghan’s team has previously responded to similar allegations by staging a PR backlash against her critics. However, this latest report suggests that strategy may have failed, and it remains to be seen whether Meghan can recover from the fallout.
The situation raises questions about how Meghan should respond to the allegations. Should she try to ignore them or acknowledge the negative experiences of staff members who worked with her?
