Actress Laura Dern shared a heartfelt birthday message to her lifelong collaborator David Lynch four days after his death. In an Instagram post, Dern wrote, “Happy birthday, tidbit,” adding, “I will love and miss you every day for the rest of my life.” This nickname, given by Lynch, has stuck since she was cast in his 1986 film “Blue Velvet” at just 17 years old.
Dern’s career skyrocketed after starring alongside Lynch in several projects, including “Wild at Heart” (1990) and “Inland Empire” (2006). She also appeared in the 2017 episode of Lynch’s show “Twin Peaks: The Return.” David MacLachlan, another frequent collaborator with Lynch, paid tribute to his friend, saying he owed his entire career and life to Lynch’s vision.
