Lamar Jackson Blames Ravens’ Turnovers for Loss to Bills

Lamar Jackson was frustrated after another playoff loss, but he didn’t point fingers at tight end Mark Andrews for a dropped 2-point conversion attempt. Instead, Jackson blamed the three uncharacteristic turnovers by the team.

Despite two of those turnovers being committed by Jackson himself, the Ravens had chances to tie the score in the fourth quarter. However, they couldn’t hold onto the ball, including fumbles by tight end Mark Andrews and safety, which ultimately led to their 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Coach John Harbaugh defended Andrews, calling him a “beacon of success” who has been consistent throughout his seven-year career with the Ravens. Even safety Kyle Hamilton agreed that one play doesn’t define someone’s worth, particularly for a player like Andrews who has made history as the all-time-leading touchdown receiver in Ravens history.

Jackson spoke to Andrews on the sideline after the failed 2-point conversion attempt and acknowledged that it wasn’t his fault. He emphasized the importance of protecting the ball, saying “that’s the No. 1 priority” and taking responsibility for his own mistakes.

The loss means Jackson and the Ravens will have to wait another year before pursuing a Super Bowl title.
