Biden Admin’s Two-State Solution Fizzles Amid Unrealistic Expectations

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is pushing the outdated idea of a Palestinian state as a solution to Middle East problems, despite acknowledging its unfeasibility. In a recent speech, Blinken emphasized the need for a “reformed” Palestinian Authority and an “interim administration,” but disregards facts that make these dreams impossible.

Blinken’s vision includes a “fully reformed PA” that would then take control of Gaza and other territories. However, he ignores the fact that the PA is riddled with individuals who support genocide against Jews, reject Israel’s right to exist, and propagate anti-Semitic ideologies. In reality, the PA has already destroyed previous attempts at peace, such as the Oslo Accords.

Blinken sets up a false choice, suggesting that Israel must accept Palestinian statehood or face rejection. However, this ignores alternative possibilities for Arab autonomy without requiring Palestinian statehood. He also demands Israel recommit to a failed “land-for-peace” model, despite acknowledging its ineffectiveness in the past.

The incoming Trump administration hopes to end American support for the idea of a Palestinian state, bringing an end to this outdated and unrealistic approach to Middle East diplomacy.
