Jets Close In on Glenn Hire Amid Weather Delays and Complications

The New York Jets are nearing a deal with Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to become their next head coach. According to reports, the Jets want to finalize the hire by Tuesday and have told Glenn he won’t be leaving the building until a contract is agreed upon.

Glenn’s interview with the Jets for the second time on Tuesday could make him the team’s new head coach soon. However, New Orleans Saints’ scheduled interview may be delayed due to bad weather in the south. The 49-year-old has previously worked as a personnel scout for the Jets from 2012-2013.

Glenn’s past with the Jets dates back to 1994 when he was drafted as a cornerback and played until 2001, earning two Pro Bowl selections during his tenure. If hired, Glenn will lead a team that struggled in 2024, finishing 5-12, amidst quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ uncertain future.
