A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched its eighth Starlink mission early Tuesday morning from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The launch, which took place at 12:24 a.m. EST, deployed 21 internet satellites into low-Earth orbit.
Weather conditions initially raised concerns due to a cold front affecting the Sunshine State, with a 40% chance of unfavorable weather forecasted for the launch window. However, cloud cover in the Tampa Bay-Orlando-Space Coast corridor was minimal at liftoff.
This marks the first stage booster’s eighth flight, having previously launched several notable missions including Crew-8 and three Starlink missions. The booster landed successfully on the SpaceX drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas about eight minutes after liftoff.
Another Starlink mission is scheduled for Friday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, with a launch window spanning from 5:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.
