Billionaires, CEOs, and foreign diplomats gathered in Washington on Monday for President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Several high-profile attendees, including tech executives Ambani, Zuckerberg, Bezos, and Musk, attended church services at St. John’s Church near the White House.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, was spotted alone at the service. TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew attended with his company in mind, as Trump had promised to restore access to the app in the US after a Sunday ban. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg arrived with his wife, Priscilla Chan, following his social media platform’s decision to scrap US fact-checking and reduce curbs on discussions around contentious topics.
Other notable attendees included casino billionaire Miriam Adelson, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, and Amazon chairman Jeff Bezos, who defended his paper’s decision not to endorse a presidential candidate. Google CEO Sundar Pichai was also present, along with former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who had met with Trump in 2023 to discuss Ukrainian victory.
The attendance of these high-net-worth individuals has raised concerns about their influence on Trump’s presidency.
