Apple’s Big Plans for 2025 and Beyond

Apple has been busy this week, with several exciting developments on the horizon. Let’s take a look at what’s new:

Apple is planning to release a new ultra-thin iPhone in 2025, dubbed the “iPhone Air.” According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this phone could have a thinnest part around 5.5mm.

Meanwhile, Apple will also be releasing the fifth mid-range iPhone SE in September, which will feature controls and ports similar to those on more expensive iPhones.

In other news, the iPhone 15 family is now available for purchase at the Apple Refurb store, offering discounts of up to 15% on the list price. However, Pro and Pro Max models are only available for a limited time.

Apple has also been addressing pressure from regulators over its generative AI news feature, with some features temporarily disabled and others coming with warnings. The company is working on improvements and expects Notification Summaries for news to return in a future software update.

Additionally, the partnership between Apple and Goldman Sachs to manage the Apple Card is up for renegotiation, with reports suggesting that Apple is exploring other financial institutions to take over.

Finally, Apple’s iCloud service has been criticized for its limited 5GB free tier. Michael Burkhardt argues that the company needs to reorganize its storage plans to better suit user needs in 2025.

As the tech industry prepares for the US Presidential inauguration, Apple CEO Tim Cook will be making an appearance at the event. However, unlike his fellow tech titans, Cook’s participation is not drawing as much attention.
