Google has confirmed that it is working to fix a bug causing the back gesture issue on the Pixel 8 Pro, which was introduced with the latest Android 15 update. The problem, where swiping from the right side of the screen fails 99% of the time, made the device almost unusable for affected users.
Initially, Google reported that no fixes were available for the bug, but in an update to its official issue tracker thread, support stated that a fix is coming “in an upcoming release.” While the exact update and timeline are unclear, it’s likely that the patch will be included in the February security update, which typically addresses small issues like this one.
Affected Pixel 8 Pro owners can expect relief soon, as the device is due for its second set of monthly security updates. With this fix on the horizon, users can once again enjoy a seamless back gesture experience on their devices.
