ABC’s flagship comedy series “Abbott Elementary” has once again led the network’s renewals with an early pickup, securing its spot on the 2025-26 schedule. The show, created by and starring Quinta Brunson, received a Season 5 renewal after its highly-rated winter return.
The news was revealed to fans in a video featuring school children, which can be watched below. The show’s crossover episode with FXX’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” scored series-high episode views on streaming and achieved high ratings of 8.05 million total viewers and 2.57 rating adults 18-49.
Produced by Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television, “Abbott Elementary” follows the teachers at an underfunded public school in Philadelphia, starring Emmy winners Quinta Brunson and Sheryl Lee Ralph alongside a talented ensemble cast.
Season 4 of “Abbott Elementary” airs on Wednesdays on ABC, with new episodes streaming next day on Hulu. The upcoming episode, set to debut January 22, explores the teachers’ adaptation to hybrid learning following a school bus strike.
