Billy Ray Cyrus Speaks Out on Trump Inauguration Performance

Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus spoke out about his recent performance at President Donald Trump’s inauguration event, the Liberty Ball, after the show was marred by technical difficulties.

Cyrus took to the stage to perform two of his hit songs, “Old Town Road” and “Achy Breaky Heart,” but struggled with equipment issues throughout the set. The singer, who was joined on stage by Lil Nas X for part of the performance, grew increasingly frustrated as he dealt with problems that included faulty guitar and monitors.

Despite the technical difficulties, Cyrus remained committed to his music and encouraged audience participation during an a cappella reprise of “Old Town Road.” He also joked about his experience, saying that he had been told to make the most of any downtime on stage, drawing parallels between his performance and President Trump’s famous phrase “You gotta fight.”

After the show, Cyrus posted on social media that he was honored to have played at the event despite the equipment issues. “I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not,” he said. “That’s called rock n roll!!”
