US Men’s Team Wins Two Straight Matches in January Camp

The US men’s national team secured their second consecutive win in a row, defeating Costa Rica 3-0 at the Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando. The victory marked coach Mauricio Pochettino’s record of five wins and one loss.

Brian White (Vancouver Whitecaps) and Caden Clark (New York City FC) both scored on their international debuts, while Patrick Agyemang added a goal for the fourth time this month. White opened the scoring in the 21st minute after receiving a precise pass from Real Salt Lake’s Diego Luna.

US goalkeeper Zack Steffen made two crucial saves to deny Costa Rica an equalizer. Clark sealed the win with a spectacular first-time finish in the second half. Agyemang secured the victory late on, scoring in the 90th minute.

The wins marked a successful January camp for the team, which also saw five players (White, Clark, Agyemang, Jack McGlynn, and Matko Miljevic) score their first national team goals. The next test for Pochettino’s squad comes on March 20 against Panama in the Concacaf Nations League.
