China and Southeast Asia Join Forces to Combat Cybercrime Scam Centers

China and Southeast Asian nations have reached an agreement to combat cybercrime gangs operating in the region, targeting those responsible for online scams that steal millions of dollars from individuals and damage tourism. The countries, including Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, met in Kunming to expand their law enforcement efforts after arresting over 70,000 suspects involved in such crimes. Police are now focusing on apprehending leaders of the illegal industry that transports people to work in these centers. This move reflects a growing trend among the nations toward combating cybercrime amid increasing online fraud.
