Acme Smoked Fish Corporation has issued a recall of 111 Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon packs due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, the FDA classifying it as the highest risk. The contaminated product was distributed in Florida from October 9-13 and sold at select Costco stores.
Listeria, known for causing severe infections in young children, the elderly, or those with weakened immunity systems, is estimated to cause 260 deaths annually. Acme’s CEO sent a warning to customers in October, advising against consuming the recalled salmon and offering contact info for any issues: (718) 383-8585.
Consumers with concerns should reach out directly for assistance.
