A week has passed since the ceasefire in Gaza, yet the suffering continues. Children are left amid rubble with empty homes, parents hold onto fragments of loved ones’ lives, and faces tell stories of resilience yet brokenness. Over 47,000 people lost their lives, and more than 100,000 are injured or maimed. The loss is personal, raw, and everywhere.
The resilience of Gaza’s people is inspiring but heartbreaking, as they endure with every breath. Yet, the reality beneath this hope is the occupation—a cycle of violence that won’t end until justice is served. International community must hold Israel accountable for its crimes and work to address systemic oppression rather than focus on temporary pause.
For my family, the road ahead is long. They rebuild, but the scars remain. My mother’s words echo: now we can grieve. Grief is not a sign of weakness—it’s a reminder of the immense cost of this war.
