[Aircraft Struck by Lightning in São Paulo Delaying Flight]

An Airbus A350 experienced multiple lightning strikes while parked at São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport, causing a British Airways flight to be delayed. The incident occurred as the aircraft, designated G-XWBE, was preparing for a return flight to London Heathrow when its tail was struck several times within seconds. Arriving in São Paulo just hours prior on another BA flight, the plane had already completed its journey across the Atlantic. After an investigation into potential damage from the lightning strikes, engineers confirmed all systems were operational. The flight eventually took off at 22:57 BRT, one hour later than scheduled, and is expected to land in London at 12:27 GMT.
