FDA Upgrades Recall for Lay’s Potato Chips in Oregon & Washington to Highest Level

The Food and Drug Administration has upgraded the recall for Lay’s Classic Potato Chips from Dec. 16, 2024, to the highest risk level for packages distributed in Oregon and Washington. The recall, classified as Class 1 by the FDA, means exposure to undeclared milk could cause serious health issues or death for those with a milk allergy.

Packets affected may contain undeclared milk, making them unsuitable for individuals with allergies. Residents in Oregon and Washington who purchased bags with a “guaranteed fresh” date of Feb. 11, and manufacturing codes starting with “6462307xx” or “6463307xx,” should dispose of the chips immediately to avoid health risks.
