Pokémon TCG Pocket Bans Real Money Trading Ahead of Release

Pokémon TCG Pocket is cracking down on real money trading as its feature launches next week. Developers sent a warning to players violating terms of service, including data tampering and card-to-cash trades. The team has already started suspending accounts for such actions and will continue to enforce rules against all potentially illegal behavior.

The move comes just days before the release of “Space-Time Smackdown,” which includes new trading mechanics. Before the feature goes live, players can only trade cards of specific rarities with matching copies from Genetic Apex or Mythical Island, limiting opportunities for rare card dumping. Additional safeguards involve time gates requiring PokéGold to unlock features like faster pack and wonder stamina.

For now, the focus is on keeping players within the game ecosystem by enforcing these rules. The developers emphasize a safe environment while hinting that once trading is fully implemented, more details will be revealed then.
