Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can now access the first free N64 game of 2025, Ridge Racer 64, across various Switch models. Released in 2000, this iconic racing game was developed by Namco and licensed to Nintendo for the N64 console.
Ridge Racer 64 features fast-paced arcade action, multiplayer modes, and special effects that were novel at the time of its release. Players can compete with up to four players simultaneously on the same screen. The game is now available through the Expansion Pack tier of Nintendo Switch Online, which requires a more expensive subscription compared to standard NSO.
To play Ridge Racer 64, subscribers must have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Lapsed subscriptions will require renewal before access to the game can be restored. While this may not be a traditional free download, it represents a way for fans to experience the classic N64 game through Nintendo’s online service.
