NFL rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy had a surprise encounter with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills in the AFC championship game. According to Worthy, Swift is taller than him, with cameras capturing their meeting.
Worthy, listed as 5-foot-11, was surprised by Swift’s height when he greeted her on the field. However, it’s worth noting that Swift wears heels and may have appeared taller due to them.
This encounter marked the first time Worthy met Swift, who recognized him because of his selection in the first round of April’s draft. The pop star told ABC 30 that she was familiar with Worthy and said “Oh you’re the one who got drafted?” as they exchanged words on the field.
Worthy also noted that Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Chiefs, has been supporting her throughout their relationship. Kelce recently mentioned that Swift continues to encourage him to pursue his NFL career.
The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIV on February 9th in New Orleans, with the team seeking its third consecutive championship.
