BMW has added another track-focused model to its lineup, the M3 CS Touring, a lighter and more powerful version of the popular M3 Touring wagon. The new car boasts 550 horsepower from its twin-turbo inline-6 engine, thanks to improved engine management software and boost pressure.
The M3 CS Touring features a range of performance upgrades, including adaptive suspension and dampers, stability control system tweaks, and lightweight forged alloy wheels. However, the most significant upgrade is the extensive use of carbon fiber for weight savings, with over 50% of the car’s body made from the material. This reduction in weight results in a 33-pound saving compared to the standard M3 Touring Competition.
The new model will have all-wheel drive and features a range of aerodynamic upgrades, including a carbon-fiber hood, front splitter, air intakes, mirror caps, and rear diffuser. Inside, the car is trimmed with premium materials, including carbon fiber seats, trim, shift paddles, and center console.
Although pricing has not been announced, it’s expected to be similar to that of the M3 Competition Touring. Sales are set to start in March 2025, pending approval for the North American market.
