Astronauts Complete Ninth Spacewalk for Space Station Assembly

Astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore successfully completed their spacewalk on January 30, marking the ninth for Williams and fifth for Wilmore. The duo accomplished key tasks during the outing, including removing a radio frequency group antenna assembly from the station’s truss and collecting surface samples from the Destiny laboratory and Quest airlock.

The spacewalk broke records for female astronaut Suni Williams, surpassing Peggy Whitson’s total spacewalking time by 62 hours and six minutes. With this achievement, Williams has secured fourth place on NASA’s all-time list for spacewalk time.
