Jefferies Investment Banker Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances

A 28-year-old Jefferies Group investment banker, Carter McIntosh, has died under mysterious circumstances in Dallas, Texas, prompting a police investigation into the “unexplained death.” The body was found on January 27 at a residential apartment complex.

According to medical records, McIntosh was discovered around 11 a.m. with an unknown cause of death. Jefferies Group CEO Richard Handler and President Brian Friedman confirmed his passing in a message to employees, offering condolences to his family and colleagues.

McIntosh previously worked as an analyst for Goldman Sachs before joining Jefferies, where he was part of the technology, media, and telecommunications team. His death marks the third young banker to die in the past 12 months, following Adnan Deumic from Bank of America and Leo Lukenas from a New York City-based investment banking group.

The deaths have raised questions about the demanding work hours faced by bank workers, but no official link has been established between his death and working long hours. The investigation is ongoing as Dallas police continue to look into the cause of McIntosh’s passing.
