Eric Bieniemy is returning to the National Football League after a season working as an assistant at UCLA. The 55-year-old former coach will join the Chicago Bears, where he will oversee the running backs unit under new head coach Ben Johnson. Bieniemy’s previous NFL experience includes stints with the Washington Commanders and Kansas City Chiefs, where he worked alongside current Bears General Manager Ryan Poles. He also held the position of running backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010. This marks Bieniemy’s second stint in college football, following his time at UCLA in 2023-24. The Bears have filled their coaching staff with veteran assistants, including Dennis Allen as defensive coordinator.
