Canadian Arrest Made in Ticketmaster Hack Case

Alexander ‘Connor’ Moucka, a 26-year-old software engineer from Ontario, Canada, has been arrested and is set to face an extradition hearing on November 5. He allegedly orchestrated one of the biggest data breaches of 2024, targeting cloud data warehousing platform Snowflake and compromising 165 clients, including Ticketmaster (Live Nation), AT&T, and LendingTree.

Moucka’s alleged hack was part of a wave of high-profile breaches impacting over 100 organizations. The breach at Ticketmaster alone affected more than 560 million customers, with the hacker attempting to extort the companies by threatening to sell their stolen data on criminal forums.

According to cybersecurity researchers, Moucka has been identified as one of the most consequential threat actors of 2024. His arrest marks a culmination of an international investigation involving private companies like Mandiant (part of Google Cloud) and public sector organizations in Australia.

Moucka’s alleged involvement with The Com, a cybercriminal ecosystem known for violence, extortion, and other crimes, has raised concerns about the severity of his actions. He reportedly destroyed evidence and attempted to cover his tracks, but authorities are confident that he will face justice.
