The Sims Classics Return: 25th Anniversary Legacy Collections Available Now

Electronic Arts (EA) and Maxis have released two new legacy collections for their beloved The Sims franchise, marking the 25th anniversary of the series. Both The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are now available on PC via the Legacy Collection and The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.

The two collections include all expansions and almost all stuff packs for each game, with a few exceptions. The Sims 2: Legacy Collection is missing the IKEA Home Stuff pack from 2008, but still features bonus content such as the Throwback Fit Kit for The Sims 1 and the Grunge Revival Kit for The Sims 2.

This re-release is significant as both games have not been readily available to play in over a decade. The Sims 1 was only released on disc, making it difficult to access without a physical copy or emulation. The Sims 2, on the other hand, was last available through an Ultimate Collection in 2014, which has since been removed.

With these new collections, all four The Sims games are now easily purchaseable and playable through digital storefronts such as Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The original The Sims games still hold value today for their nostalgic charm, simplicity, and challenge. Reviewers have praised the series for its enduring legacy, despite the addition of new features and improvements over the years.

The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are now available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and through the EA app.
