A man who accuses A$AP Rocky of firing a handgun at him in 2021 claims that his story may have changed over time, but he remains convinced that the rapper pointed a gun at him. The accuser, Terell Ephron, known as A$AP Relli, testified during the Los Angeles trial of Rocky that a gun was pulled on him, despite initially stating that it wasn’t touched to him.
Relli’s testimony contradicts his previous statements and raised questions about the reliability of his account. Rocky’s defense team has consistently claimed that Rocky used a prop starter pistol that shoots blanks, which he carried for stage performances.
The trial has been marked by tension between Relli and Rocky, with Relli shouting at the rapper during proceedings. The jury has yet to hear the full extent of the confrontation that led to the shooting. If convicted, Rocky faces up to 25 years in prison on two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic handgun.
Rihanna, Rocky’s partner, sat in the audience for the second consecutive day, while Denzel Washington and Spike Lee are set to collaborate with Rocky on upcoming projects. The Grammy Awards ceremony is also scheduled to take place at Crypto.com Arena, just miles from the trial location.
