TCU wide receiver Jack Bech scored a game-winning touchdown catch in the Senior Bowl, catching a pass from Memphis QB Seth Henigan to give the American team the win over the National team. The 68-yard catch helped earn him the game’s MVP award.
Bech, who was playing for the American team at the Senior Bowl, caught his sixth reception of the game and finished with 62 catches for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns in the regular season. Before taking the field, Bech wore the number 7 jersey, which was his brother Tiger’s number at Princeton University.
Tiger Bech, Jack’s older brother, was one of 14 people killed in a New Orleans truck attack on January 1st. The man who drove the truck was killed by police. In a pre-game interview, Bech expressed his gratitude to his guardian angel and faith for guiding him through this difficult time.
Bech’s performance in the Senior Bowl was a testament to his hard work and perseverance, as he credited his brother and faith for helping him achieve his goal of participating in the game.
