Rory McIlroy Wins AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with Dominant Performance

Rory McIlroy kicked off his 2025 PGA Tour season with a bang, winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Sunday in dramatic fashion. The Northern Irish golfer shot a 6-under 66 to claim his first win of the year and 27th career title.

McIlroy’s impressive round saw him surge into contention after starting the weekend at T13. He played his way into the final group with a 7-under 65 in the third round, fueled by three birdies in his final four holes of the day. Sepp Straka led the charge at one shot ahead, but McIlroy quickly closed the gap.

The turning point came at the 14th hole, where McIlroy sunk a deep 26-foot eagle putt to push his lead to four shots over the field. From there, he cruised through the final few holes to secure his win and a $3.6 million check.

Shane Lowry finished alone in second at 19-under, while Justin Rose and Lucas Glover tied for third at 18-under. Scottie Scheffler rounded out the top eight with a T8 finish at 15-under.

McIlroy’s dominant performance marked his eighth consecutive season with a win, the longest active streak on Tour. His win also came after a tumultuous campaign last season, which saw him miss the cut at the British Open and extend his major championship drought to a decade.

Despite not claiming a major championship title, McIlroy is thrilled with his performance and positioning himself for the Masters in two months. “To win at one of the cathedrals of golf is really, really cool,” he said on CBS. “I knew today was going to be tough, it was going to be exciting… I had to put it to the back of my mind and go out there and shoot a score.”
