Frito-Lay Recalls Lay’s Classic Potato Chips Due to Undeclared Milk Allergen

Frito-Lay issued a Class I recall for over 6,000 bags of its Lay’s Classic Potato Chips due to an undeclared milk allergen. The recalled products were sold at select retailers and e-commerce distributors in Oregon and Washington from November 3, 2024, to February 11, 2025.

A Class I recall is the most serious classification, indicating a reasonable probability that the product will cause serious health consequences or death. The impacted chips bear the UPC 28400 31041 and have specific manufacturing codes and dates.

Consumers with milk allergies or sensitivities should not consume the recalled products and instead throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. If you don’t have a milk allergy, you can still eat the Lay’s chips without risk.

You can contact Frito-Lay at 1-800-352-4477 for more information about the recall, which was upgraded from Nov. 3 due to increased alertness.
