SpaceX Launches 21 Starlink Satellites After Multiple Delays

Despite multiple delays due to fog and weather conditions, SpaceX successfully launched more than 20 Starlink satellites early Tuesday morning from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The launch, which was originally scheduled for Monday, took place at 5:15 a.m. ET after being pushed back several times.

According to SpaceX, the Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink 12-3 mission blasted off from Space Launch Complex 40 and entered into low-Earth orbit. Thirteen of the satellites have direct-to-cell capabilities and are expected to provide internet services to various locations on Earth.

This launch marks the 21st mission for the first-stage booster B1069, which has previously flown 20 successful missions. After the stage separation, the rocket landed safely on the droneship Just Read the Instructions in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Starlink satellites join thousands of others already in orbit, with over 6,992 currently in space and 6,265 operational. The company’s next launch is expected to take place soon, although a specific date has not been announced.
