Google Keep Redesigns UI with Floating Action Button on Android

Google has updated its Android version of the Google Keep app with a redesigned user interface (UI) featuring a floating action button (FAB). The new design replaces the traditional “plus sign” in the bottom-right corner of the display with a Dynamic Color theming button. This button allows users to create new Image, Drawing, List, or Text notes.

The redesign changes the layout of the app, removing the bar in the bottom left that displayed icons for creating different types of notes. However, this change means that users can no longer make lists and notes with a single tap without using a workaround.

Fortunately, Google has provided a solution for this issue with the introduction of widgets. Android users can create a one-tap list/note creator by long pressing on an empty space on their home screen, selecting “Widgets,” and tapping on the “Keep Notes” option.

The update is available to version 5.24.432.x of Google Keep for Android, but it’s unclear when the iOS version will receive a similar redesign.
