Monster Hunter Wilds OBT2 Launches February 6, New Monsters and Content Revealed

Capcom has announced the launch of the second open beta test (OBT2) for Monster Hunter Wilds on February 6, 2025. The OBT2 will feature identical content to the first OBT held last November, including Character Creation, Story Trial, Doshagma Hunt, and a new Training Area.

During the OBT2, hunters will be able to face off against returning monsters like Gypceros, as well as new additions such as Hirabami, Nerscylla, and the flagship monster Arkveld. The latter will appear in an advanced quest specially designed for the OBT2, challenging skilled hunters to take on its unique challenges.

The second OBT is part of the game’s development process and provides players with more opportunities to test and refine their skills before the full release of Monster Hunter Wilds on February 28. Hunters can participate in the OBT2 on both PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, without requiring a PlayStation Plus subscription or access to additional features.

As an added bonus, all participants in the OBT2 will receive exclusive rewards, including a Felyne pendant, Seikret, and Bonus Item packs in the full game. Players who have already participated in the first OBT can carry over their created characters to the full version of Monster Hunter Wilds.

Pre-loading for the full release is now available for those who have pre-ordered the game at the PlayStation Store, allowing them to download and play earlier than other players. The next open beta test will take place from February 13 to 16, 2025, with identical content to OBT2.
