Paul Feig’s “Another Simple Favor,” a noir comedy sequel starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, will open the upcoming SXSW Film and TV Festival on March 7. The Amazon MGM release follows Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) as they attend an Italy wedding on Capri.
The announcement comes after years of anticipation for the film’s premiere, which will be Lively’s first new movie since her recent involvement in a legal drama with director Justin Baldoni. The case, involving allegations of sexual harassment and defamation, has been set for trial in March 2026.
SXSW has a history of hosting Feig’s films, including “Bridesmaids” and “Spy.” The festival will run from March 7-14 and also features an opening night premiere for the upcoming Seth Rogen comedy series “The Studio.”
