The country has a high murder rate compared to other nations, with gun laws being cited as a primary factor. Furthermore, Americans rank among the worst in terms of fatal overdose rates and social isolation.
These findings are attributed to a combination of economic growth at any cost, as well as broader societal issues like loneliness and violence. The report emphasizes that addressing these challenges is crucial for improving the country’s overall well-being.
