NFL Abandons Anti-Racism Slogan Amid Trump’s Influence

The National Football League (NFL) has removed its “End Racism” slogan from the back of an end zone at the Superdome field, citing sensitivity to recent tragedies. The change comes as President Donald Trump is expected to attend the game and amid a wave of corporations abandoning diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

League sources indicate that the switch was made internally earlier this week, with “Choose Love” taking its place. The decision has sparked concern among high-ranking officials, who worry about the league’s stance on racism in light of Trump’s public statements.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed his support for diversity efforts during Monday’s Super Bowl news conference, saying they make the NFL better. However, he did not directly address Trump’s influence on the league’s policies.

The “Inspire Change” platform was launched by the NFL in 2018 to promote diversity and inclusion. Slogans such as “End Racism,” “It Takes All of Us,” and “Choose Love” have appeared on end-zone borders, aiming to bring people together to work towards a common goal.

This year’s Super Bowl will feature the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles, with Trump attending as a guest of New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson. The game marks the first time since February 2021 that “End Racism” is not included as an end-zone slogan.
