As a university student in 2000, I spent countless hours building digital worlds in Sim City and other tycoon games. But it was The Sims that changed everything – introducing me to the world of pixelated inhabitants living in my carefully crafted cities. My experiences with the game were not without incident, as evidenced by the catastrophic outcome of trying to pause a fire.

From bizarre options like having a pet dragon to visiting exotic destinations like the yeti’s home, there’s never a dull moment.
While some may find the gameplay too challenging or even frustrating at times, others will appreciate the sense of accomplishment that comes from surviving in this chaotic world. So, how do you survive February as a gamer with a multitude of massive triple-A games to choose from? The answer lies in embracing the quirks and unpredictability of The Sims, and learning to navigate its ever-changing landscape.
