Chip Kelly has been appointed as the Offensive Coordinator of the Las Vegas Raiders. With 34 years of coaching experience, including 30 years at the collegiate level and four seasons as an NFL head coach, Kelly brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.
Kelly’s most recent stint was as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Ohio State, where he helped guide the Buckeyes to a 14-2 record and a National Championship in their first year of the 12-team College Football Playoff. He also directed the No. 14 scoring offense and No. 30 total offense in the nation last season.
At UCLA, Kelly finished with a 35-34 overall record, while at the San Francisco 49ers, he improved the team’s rushing attack from 21st to fourth-best in just one season. With the Eagles, Kelly led the team to three consecutive NFC East Division titles and an appearance in Super Bowl LII.
Kelly has also had success as a head coach at Oregon, where his teams produced a 46-7 record over four seasons and won three consecutive conference championships. He was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year in two consecutive seasons and Associated Press Coach of the Year in 2010.
A native of New Hampshire, Kelly played quarterback and safety before transitioning to coaching. He spent 13 years at his alma mater, the University of New Hampshire, before becoming the head coach at Oregon.
