A nationwide egg shortage is affecting American restaurants, with no end in sight. The shortage, caused by bird flu outbreaks, has led to higher prices, with some cartons now costing as much as $7. Biscuit Belly, a chain with 14 locations across six southern states, has had to switch to cheaper eggs due to the shortage. CEO Chad Coulter says they’ve found large brown eggs for $55 per case, a 21% discount from their usual medium white eggs. This move aims to reduce costs without compromising on quality as the shortage continues to affect grocery stores and restaurants across the country.
