Legendary rock star Ozzy Osbourne is set to reunite with his iconic band Black Sabbath for a one-off show on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. The event, titled “The Back to the Beginning,” will mark the first time the original members – Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward – have performed together in 20 years.
Osbourne, who founded Black Sabbath in the 1970s, will perform his own solo set before joining his former bandmates for a heavy metal extravaganza. The event’s musical director, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, described it as “the greatest heavy metal show ever.”
The all-day festival will feature top metal bands Metallica, Slayer, and Alice In Chains, with more names to be announced soon. Proceeds from the show will benefit charities such as Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
Osbourne’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, confirmed that her husband is doing well despite his health struggles, including a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease and several surgeries in recent years. She noted that this would be his final concert, but he wants to perform one last time with his friends and fans before saying goodbye.
The reunion marks a fitting end to Osbourne’s career, which was marked by his “Prince of Darkness” persona and rock ‘n’ roll antics. With the help of his loved ones and iconic metal bands, Ozzy will deliver a memorable performance that will be etched in metal fans’ memories forever.
