Grammys Executive Producer Weighs In on Bianca Censori’s Red Carpet Stunt

Grammy Awards executive producer Raj Kapoor addressed the controversy surrounding Kanye West and Bianca Censori’s red carpet appearance at Sunday’s event. The 30-year-old model made headlines after undressing on the carpet, revealing her nearly naked body under an illusion stocking dress.

Kapoor stated that the dress code listed for the show’s guests is “artistic black-tie,” but noted that this term can be interpreted differently in the music industry. He clarified that there are standards and practices for performers, but attendees and nominees have a different set of rules.

A standard practice wardrobe advisory from 2013 suggests that Censori’s outfit may have overlooked multiple dress code requirements. The advisory requires adequate coverage of buttocks and female breasts, as well as prohibition on sheer or see-through clothing.

Censori’s appearance also raised questions about public indecency laws in California, where the ceremony was held. According to the state’s laws, indecent exposure is considered an issue when someone intentionally exposes their genitals or naked body in front of others who could be offended.

Despite the controversy, Kapoor remained neutral and focused on the event’s proceedings. Kanye West and Bianca Censori’s appearance at the Grammys marks his first time at the awards show in 10 years, and they later attended a Los Angeles afterparty together.
