Giannis Antetokounmpo Opens Up About Middleton’s Departure from Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo has spoken out about the reported trade of teammate Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards. Milwaukee traded Middleton, a three-time All-Star, for forward Kyle Kuzma as part of a roster upgrade. The move marks the end of a partnership between the two players that dates back to the 2013-14 season.

Despite Middleton’s declining numbers this season, Antetokounmpo expressed his appreciation for their time together on the team. “I’m going to miss Khris,” he said. “Everybody on the team is going to miss Khris.” The two players formed a strong bond, and Antetokounmpo described their brotherhood as one of the most important things about playing with Middleton.

The Bucks and Middleton have a storied history, particularly in the 2021 postseason when they led Milwaukee to its first NBA title since 1971. Antetokounmpo remembered those moments fondly, saying “We were able to find a way to make things happen and we found a way to win a championship.”
