Capcom Announces Onimusha Remaster, Monster Hunter Wilds Reveal, and Fighting Collection 2 Launch

Capcom held a double-feature livestream that showcased several exciting updates. The company shared its upcoming lineup in the Capcom Spotlight series and delved into the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds ahead of its launch on February 28.

Onimusha: Samurai’s Destiny Remaster Announced
Capcom announced a remastered version of Onimusha: Samurai’s Destiny, the second entry in the legendary swordplay action series. The new release focuses on three key aspects:

1. Compelling characters, including a new protagonist and enemies to face.
2. A dark fantasy setting in Edo period Kyoto, featuring real-life locations.
3. Intense sword-fighting action delivering visceral satisfaction.

The game’s story follows a lone samurai fighting against twisted creatures known as the Genma in a dramatic tale set in a beautiful and eerie rendition of Kyoto. The remastered version is set to launch on PlayStation 4 in 2026, marking the first time this classic title has been re-released since its original 2002 launch.

Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase
A new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds was revealed during the showcase, introducing the Iceshard Cliffs locale and the new monster Hirabami. Returning monsters Nerscylla and Gore Magala also made an appearance. Additionally, a wide array of customization options for hunters were showcased.

Further details on the upcoming second Open Beta Test were shared, including features such as an advanced quest with Arkveld, a training area, and other online features.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Launches May 16
The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is set to launch on PlayStation 4 on May 16, featuring a diverse collection of eight fighting games. The lineup includes fan-favorite crossovers and 3D fighters, offering a varied experience for fans. The collection will include online play with rollback netcode and various quality-of-life updates.
